I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
